Quality Whipped Cream Equipment Since 1952

Frederick P. Gruenewald

1922-2011

Fred started inventing things when he was just a child. He was born with the gift of creativity and his family provided encouragement and the means to turn young Freddy’s ideas into reality. Patenting early inventions before even completing grammar school, Fred accumulated many patents for various inventions over the course of his career.

In the early 1950’s his interest in pressurized equipment and whipped cream dispensers in particular led him to patent the aerosol valve and to design the world’s first commercial size stationary pressurized whipped cream dispenser. Since 1952, Gruenewald Manufacturing Company has supplied the food service industry with quality whipped cream dispensers that maximize profits, eliminate waste, and deliver the highest in quality whipped cream.

Fred invented the first stationary whipped cream dispenser for commercial use, the River of Cream™, because he recognized that small pressure containers charged with disposable N2O cartridges that were common throughout Europe since the 1930’s really were not well suited for high volume operations. World patents were granted in 1962, and the River of Cream™ became the whipped cream dispenser of choice, especially in the ice cream industry. It’s stainless steel container and flexible hose provided commercial establishments the ability to easily dispense up to 60 quarts of whipped cream per batch! In addition to ease of use, it also provided significant cost savings. Many of these original units are still in use today!

Through the years Gruenewald’s name has remained synonymous with quality cost saving whipped cream equipment. The designs have been modified and improved on, the product names have changed with the times, but Gruenewald’s dispensers are still the most cost effective and environmentally friendly way to serve your customers fresh real whipped cream!
